Ascendancy

Second, the land is good in its ascendancy. The land of Canaan is mountainous, ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 feet above sea level. In Deuteronomy Moses speaks of Jehovah causing Israel to “ride on the high places of the earth” (32:13). This elevated land signifies the resurrected and ascended Christ in His exalted position, having been raised to the height of the heavens. He ascended far above all the heavens that He might fill all things (Eph. 4:8, 10). We can now enjoy Christ in His ascendancy because God has “raised us up together with Him and seated us together with Him in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus” (Eph. 2:6). In such an ascended position we are far above all earthly cares and problems. How wonderful it is to experience such a heavenly refuge in our ascended Christ! (Witness Lee, All-Inclusive Christ, 27-34)
